Biography

Growing up in Peapack-Gladstone, New Jersey, I began the long process of teaching myself photographic technique at the age of fourteen.  That process continued as I pursued my undergraduate (Washington & Lee) and graduate (John Hopkins) degrees in Classics, served four years in the Army (two years in Berlin), and subsequently taught Latin and Ancient Greek at a number of schools, most recently Loyola Blakefield.  Since my first show in1995, my work has been featured in twenty-two group and twenty solo shows in Baltimore, Washington, DC, New York City, and Porto Alegre, Brazil.  In 2006, Johns Hopkins Press published Look Again in Baltimore, a collaboration by John Dorsey and myself in which my photographs provided the impetus for essays written by Mr. Dorsey.
